sometimes its nice to read comments about photos though...

Kratos... I have never done a "moving light picture" picture, they look difficult, and photographers most of the time make things look easy, so its probably even harder still to expose and make look right correctly.

Nice job actually drawing with a light though. Siginificantly better than random lines ive seen a lot of people do.

Got a new film scanner recently, this is from about 2 or 3 years ago (Contax Aria and Zeiss 50mm f1.4, Ilford Tech Pan film at ISO 50 I think)

Now I need to get better with the scanner settings and learn what to do in Photoshop. A B&W print of this I made is great, but on screen it's ~ OK.

The thing about my photos is that I just go off what I think looks cool. I really don't know much about photography, but I think I have good taste which is the only thing that gets me by. I have a photography book or two I've been meaning to read, but haven't. Photography is something I'm very interested in, but still a complete novice. Nonetheless, I will continue to post what I htink are my best shots. I've got a lot of landscape, architecture, nature, and statues/fountains. This one is in the stairwell of the Louvre, it used to be the front of an old greek ship.

This is a place called Powerscourt Castle. It's located just outside of Doublin. This picture just says Ireland to me. I've got a few really nice shots from this place. The grounds and waterfall there are beautiful.

In my experience horses dont like camera's so applaud that you could even get a clear image out of it.

I used to ride horses a lot. It was fun. The horse I rode was named Rare Collection, it was basically every award a show horse could get in the Mid West before it retired. Wasnt my horse, but a friends, before the first time I rode she said "if you let anything happen to this horse I will kill you. With the intonation of being serious. It was scary, but awesome.

I might make a thread of my weekend. Nordic Fest a combination of the State Fair, and the Renaissance Festival. Only Swedish and Norwegian...

Took this in Canada last year. Nothing special, but I thought it was pretty decent for a $150 digital camera. I'm in Maine right now taking tons of pictures so I'll have to add some more when I get home and get them uploaded!

Ok, so I'm bored and I didn't post one yesterday, so I'll bend the rules and post another from the same place. This is a ~150 waterfall in a far corner of the grounds at Powerscourt Castle. The second pic was taken by my aunt and is purely to show the size of the falls. Look at the folks behind my wife and I and you can tell how large they are.

I actually climbed out on to a boulder in the middle of the river at the base of the falls and got nice and wet from the huge spray it was giving out. On my way back, I got to about where we're standing in this picture and noticed my wedding ring, which was loose, had fallen off! Believe it or not, I found it in the grass on the way back up to the waterfall. This was on our honeymoon and I was sure I had lost my wedding ring in the river, haha.

    AWESOME!!!

    Best moving shot ever!

There is some class stuff here. Glad to see the point is being taken.

See multiple pictures work, but not whole photoshoots, so 1 or 2 work.

Brett you should approve of the subject material

And Kratos I want to see your rig... we shuld meet up sometime.

Moving on from Ireland to France now... This is a shot at Versailles, Louis XIV's palace in the French contryside. Easily the biggest garden I've ever seen. This shot is of one of the "side yards" you could say. This is not a shot of the back which is much larger. It was a little hazy that day so the distant objects are a bit muddled, but besides that I love this shot.

I specifically wanted her in the picture. I've got plenty of the garden alone but like the "action" of this shot. Again, I know nothing of actual photography, I just go by what I think looks "cool" haha.

In that case Tommy, you have a good thought behind your shot. Did you have any where you had ALL of her in there along with some space to spare between her and the edge?

So here's the others from the same series for comparison. I liked #3 as well as the one I previously posted, but I decided I preferred the painter in the shot. These are uncropped, but all I did to the original one is reduce the amount of sky captured. Which would you prefer, and why?
