I know the Alpine and Eclipse units do. The Clarion needs a toggle switch to interrupt the ground momentarily for the video to transmit. Some real cheap ass units require nothing at all.

Pioneers have been (haven't looked lately) notoriously complicated to bypass.

Alpine requires the module wes mentioned

Clarion requires the parking brake wire to see "-" then "open" then "-" which can easily be accomplished using a momentary switch or putting a relay inline to the hazard lights...set up normally grounded, then switched to open when hazards are on and then back to ground when hazards are off.

    MOST others are straightup ground.

Good information thanks! Just to clarify, when you say straight up ground, what do you mean?

Straight up ground... just find a bare piece of metal in your car that could be considered a ground and attach the wire to it... so the cable is grounded...pretty sad huh... I'm sure Tjams or weshole has a fancier or nicer way to do it other than ghetto rigging it to the ground of course they would say how to do it off the record since its not exactly legal to watch movies while the car is in motion...

yeah....straight up ground=just hooked up to the ground wire (or bare metal in the car via a screw and ring terminal) and doesn't require any fancy modules/groudning-ungrounding sequences to make it work.

Chuck (TJamz) is the only one I know with any experience with them. Maybe he can chime in on this question.
