Default Questions about injectors and flywheel; DC2

With a Walbro 255, how much HP can stock injectors produce before I would need to upgrade?

Also, will a stock GSR flywheel handle say, 500-600 hp? I was told I should get a heavier flywheel, as the stock one will crack at that high of horse power? Is this accurate?

    Thanks FB!

The problem will be the clutch before the flywheel. We've made over 500hp on a single disc and stock flywheel but the clutch did not last long once it heats up. Anything 600hp and above, i would recommend a twin disc clutch.

The walbro is usually good to 420-450hp on ethanol and roughly 550hp on gas. I would upgrade the injectors right away if you plan on boosting the car.

    Thanks LJ!

How would I get to 500 whp then? Dual fuel pump?

I want to run 10:1, so I would need to do E85.

So, 1000cc will be good then?

    Thanks again!

Np bro, dual pumps with 1000cc would get you there for sure.

Sweet! Well, I might just try to get 450 whp at first (at least over 400) and then go from there.

I really need to get the tranny and engine built this summer; I just don't know if fiances will allow? I have been saving all winter for this build, but going to college and only working weekends, you don't make that much...lol.

What kind of cams would you suggest? Skunk2 at all?

Is it possible to change out springs and retainers without pulling the head? By forcing compressed air into the cylinder, which would push the valves up?

Trent, you can use compress air to install them but it can be a pain. I would suggest skunk 2 pro 1's for boost.

    Okay great!

I sent you a PM about the build... just waiting for your response!

    Pro 1's it is then!

    Thanks, LJ!
